Project Overview: Project Island is a fan-made sequel inspired by the LEGO® Island series, aiming to deliver a fun 3D adventure game with the humor and charm of the original. The project focuses on creating engaging user experiences and intuitive player interactions within the game environment.

My Role: UX/UI Designer

My Responsibilities

  • Build System: Led the conceptualization and refinement of the build system. Initially explored manual brick-by-brick construction and collaborated with leadership and engineers to evolve it into a recipe-style system, allowing players to construct diverse structures using "Constructopedia Pages."
  • Dialogue UI: Designed a fluid and user-friendly dialogue interface that maintains the whimsical style of the game. Ensured that dialogue interactions adapt dynamically based on the player's location to enhance immersion and engagement.
  • Character Customization: Developed the UI and system for character costume customization, enabling players to collect and personalize their character's wardrobe, thus enriching their gameplay experience.
  • User Flows and Interactions: Focused on crafting intuitive user flows and enhancing player interactions throughout the game.
